Since its affiliation with Lurie Children’s Hospital in 1996, the NSMRJB has raised more than $1.8 million to fund creative research in an amazing array of disciplines.

In 2012 the NSMRJB completed a one-year $100,000 pledge to support pediatric neuro-oncology.

2013-2014 Fundraising Targets
In 2013/2014, the NSMRJB embarked on a new two-year $250,000 pledge to support the important brain tumor research of Dr. Stewart Goldman, one of the nation’s leading pediatric Neuro-Oncologists. He is also Director of the Center for Clinical Trials Research for the Lurie Children’s Research Center and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.

In addition, Dr. Goldman serves as a director of the hospital’s Falk Brain Tumor Center, one of the world’s leading centers for pediatric brain tumor diagnosis and treatment. Established in 1986, the center was one of the first of its kind in the nation to create a comprehensive multidisciplinary program, offering specialists in more than 30 pediatric and surgical subspecialties. Last year, the brain tumor team cared for more than 140 new patients and performed more than 100 surgeries.
